5. SOUND DESIGN | I GOT NEVER
BACKGROUND:
The electroencephalogram (EEG) is one of the most useful technologies for brain research;
Always be presented as complicated visual images or waveforms;
Be heard after translation by a proper sonification rule;
directly “perceive” brain activity and its variations using our auditory system.
HEAR SOUND OF THE BRAIN:
To hear the sound of the brain, many strategies are adopted by researchers in different fields, from neuroscience to music composition.
THE 5 MAIN TYPES OF BRAINWAVE FREQUENCIES:
Different patterns of brainwaves can be recognized by their amplitudes and frequencies. Brainwaves can then be categorized based on their level of activity or frequency.
Slow activity refers to a lower frequency and high amplitude (the distance between two peaks of a wave). These oscillations are often much larger in amplitude (wave depth).
Fast activity refers to a higher frequency and often smaller amplitude.
